In Memoriam

Wentworth J. Marshall, Jr.

Wentworth “Jack” Marshall, Jr. (1932-2024) was a founding member of our firm. Jack always remarked that he would “practice law until he got it right,” and had a remarkable 68-year career as a trusted advisor in business, real estate, probate and estate planning. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Williams College in 1953 and his law degree in 1956 from Western Reserve Law School.

Jack Marshall's name is also synonymous with soccer in the Cleveland area. He established the men’s soccer program at Fenn College in 1954, and served as Fenn's only soccer coach. He became the first soccer coach of Cleveland State University in 1964, and was inducted into the Cleveland State Hall of Fame in 1994. His love for the game inspired him to found Orange Crush Travel Soccer club in 1979.

Jack was a founding board member of Maximum Independent Living and remained an active member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church throughout the last 15 years. He enjoyed summers sailing the coast of Maine from his summer house in Christmas Cove and played “gentleman farmer” at Circle M Farm in Burton.

Our co-worker, partner and friend’s guidance and influence leaves a lasting legacy. Jack’s focus on issues and attention to detail was only outweighed by his love for and loyalty to his clients, friends and most important, his family.
